Created in 2015 by Thierry Landherr, PROMEA aims to offer services and advice in gear transmissions, based on know-how acquired from the best manufacturers.
From the very beginning, PROMEA partnered with SGM, a company with over 35 years of expertise in heavy industry gearbox maintenance, and with Xubi, one of the largest gear manufacturers in Europe.
This partnership enables PROMEA to position itself on the market as a specialist in gearbox inspection, both on-site and in the workshop, as well as in the supply of custom-made gears.
In 2019, Promea purchased part of the assets of David Brown France Engrenages.
Thanks to this acquisition, Promea is now the sole owner of the original plans and technical files necessary for the production of spare parts and complete sets for brand machines David Brown France Engrenages, WECO and BEYER. This industrial heritage allows us to provide reliable and quality solutions, while maintaining a valuable heritage.
In 2020, PROMEA acquired new resources and welcomed several key team members from DBFE to support its development.
The technical and assembly department was expanded, and a dedicated export division was established to drive international growth.
In September 2024, the new workshop for the repair and assembly of new gearboxes was inaugurated in Eastern France in Aspach Michelbach, 2km from the historic WECO — BEYER factory.
